There will be 7 Christmas Markets avaialable scattered allthroughout town, the busiest ones will be the first 2, while 3, 5 and 6 will be easy to get to from Old Town and the rest are an adventure for you to discover.

1. Bucharest Christmas Market

This is the main Christmas fair organized by the Capital City Hall in Constitution Square, running from November 29th to December 28th. Visitors will find 120 stalls with traditional products, crafts, decorations, and seasonal treats. Key attractions include the country’s largest ecological Christmas tree (30 meters high), Santa’s House, a panoramic wheel, and a Venetian carousel. The event features two music zones: one for traditional carols and folklore, and an urban zone with DJs.

2.Bucharest Downtown Christmas Market

The second fair organized by the City Hall takes place in University Square between November 29th and December 28th. The focus here is on food, being a collaboration with the Food Truck Festival, presented as a “special holiday culinary pop-up.” Visitors can enjoy a mix of international street food, light installations, “Instagrammable” decorations, and live concerts, complemented by a festive carousel.

3. Bucharest Opera Christmas Market

This third event organized by the City Hall opens later, on St. Nicholas Day, December 6th, and runs until December 28th on the National Opera Esplanade. The atmosphere is designed to be refined, inspired by French market squares, with classical music playing a principal role. The venue will host weekend recitals, featuring classical music and live-streamed productions from the National Opera’s repertoire. It also includes food stalls and children’s workshops.

4. “Bucharest West Side Market”

The Christmas fair opens on November 28th and is organized in collaboration with Untold. It is conceived as a festival-like market, featuring winter decorations and a main stage that will host a top artist on the opening night. In previous years, it offered an outdoor ice rink. Admission to the fair is free, but the full program is yet to be announced.

5. “Winter Wonderland”

This event has moved outdoors to Alba Iulia Square and will run from November 27th, 2025, to January 7th, 2026. Attractions include an ice rink, a carousel, themed stalls, and dedicated spaces for children. The Christmas lights will be switched on here on November 29th. Alba Iulia Square will also host the area’s only open-air New Year’s Eve party.

6. “Tărâmul de gheță” (Land of Ice)

This fair is located in Lumea Copiilor Park and is open from November 27th to December 27th. Admission is free. Noteworthy attractions include a hot air balloon, a zip line, an ice rink, and a “caravan of magical animals,” where visitors can meet reindeer and Husky dogs. The fair will also host concerts by well-known artists such as Ștefan Bănică Junior and Direcția 5, with the first musical show featuring Sofia Vicoveanca and Fuego on December 1st.

7. “Poveste de Crăciun” (Christmas Story)

Hosted by the Comic Opera, this fair is the earliest to open, running from November 21st to December 28th in the Comic Opera’s garden. Admission is free, though most workshops are paid activities. The venue is transformed into a winter story town with lights, carols, and guaranteed snow on weekends. Unique attractions include a VR Sleigh Ride, the Grinch’s Grotto, and the daily free spectacle “Basme cu cai” (Fairy Tales with Horses), which combines equestrian art, acrobatics, and pyrotechnic effects.
