A year ago it was more electronic, this year I found some other genres. Merry Christmas to you all!

Cristina Stroe – Glory to the Heavens

The lyrics follow a traditional pattern, but the melody, instrumental, and voice offer quite a unique blend.

Lupii lui Calancea – Get out of bed host

Based on a classical Romanian Christmas carol about repairing a traditional instrument in the process of making flour. The version that The Wolves of Calancea explore takes it on a rock ballad journey of traditions.

Avant’n’Gard – From four corners of the world

First, the name of Avant’n’gard translates to something like momentum towards the fence. Secondly, you might have noticed that even the name avant garde suggests an experimental aproach towards carols.

Fara Zahar – Not Openining

A funny take on staying isolated and not opening your door during the pandemic. Funny carol that is bittersweet.

Cantus Domini reinterpretining Surorile Osoianu – The strongman and the stag

Traditionally carols have a limited number of instruments, focusing more on the voices, but this is true decandence which I personally enjoy!

Other reinterpreted carols:
