Bucovina is a historical region of Romania located in the North of the country. It is hard to explain why this region is so special, so I will let these images speak for themselves.
Nature
The stag in old lore from the area symbolized a sacred symbol of purity and honor with a noble allure. The Celts and previous Romanian tribes, the Thracians, viewed this majestic creature as a symbol of the sun. Here is an example of this beauty:
Faith
There is something mystical when you listen to the Toaca instrument. Also called a semantron it has a very specific sound and rhythm that Romanians associate with the Romanian Orthodox faith.

Legends
Once upon a time in a mythical time frame, there were such intense earthquakes and cataclysmic events that they shook the very foundations of the earth, altered the courses of rivers, and even compelled the devil to find another occupation. As there was too much death and destruction in the world he decided to take some time off and become a miller. Devil’s Mill remains from that era and is located not far from Piatra Buhei. Here, water flows between two high rock walls making a sound resembling the grinding process in a mill. Most likely the devil no longer resides here having evil stuff to do somewhere else, but you never know…
