There is a very cool documentary on how we base our knowledge on previous experiences (Everything is a Remix). Take something old, turn it into something new and this is what Dracula really enjoys. A bit of old, a bit of new and this is what life is all about.

Shukar Collective

Take some traditional music from ethnically rroma people (also called Romani music or traditional gypsy music, gypsy is used as a derogatory term so ask your rroma friend how to best use it) mix it with some electronic music and you get something out of this world.

Surorile Osoianu + Subcarpati

Subcarpați started off with combining traditional Romanian music with dub and electronic music. After releasing an album and realizing the potential started promoting other artists that were doing similar work. The Osoianu Sisters are 5 sisters from the Republic of Moldova and they collaborated on quite a few projects lending their traditional folklore skills to the electronic music scene.

Spike – Manele parody music

Manele, trap, hip hop and parody music. It is a critique addressed to people that listen to manele and how there is a transition from manele to manele and trap music (also known as trapanele). It has a negative connotation in Romania but it is really popular, similar to how Spanish people view reggaeton.

Ada Milea – Absurd theater

Ada Milea is a famous singer that takes a very playful view in music combining elements of folk music. Eugen Ionesco got his inspiration from the absurd situations that happened in Romania, Ada Milea in a similar fashion extends that legacy.
