Zadar Bar – Geobar (experimental music)

The music is not riffing everyday every day so, check them out on Instagram, but they do offer a wide range of musical styles. Some of the music played here involves live drums and bass experimental drums, experimental jazz, brass instrumental music, live DJ sets and whatever cool music the owner can find.

Edit: 12/10/23 Recently they added mied (honey beer) and an amazing selection of craft beer. This is the hidden gem you are looking for in terms of live music! And they have non-alcoholic drinks for those of you who are tired of alcohol.

Măria și Ion (manele music or brass instrumentals)

Restaurant by day, party heaven for the manele lovers at night. This is a magical place that might not bring the most famous manele musicians but definitely brings the party to the student neighborhood of Regie. They play manele which is a combination of Turkish music and interesting lyrics. You can encounter people dancing on the tables and throwing money at the singers.

Club Control (live DJ sets)

One of the best places in Bucharest to go clubbing, and if you like live DJ sets, high chance you will find one here. It is really close to the old center and it is close to some really cool buildings (Town hall, Military Circle) but… I know only Dracula likes clubbing and architecture at the same time…

Berăria H (live concerts)

Largest beerhouse/restaurant in south eastern Europe, really cool if you like big buildings and you cannot lie. You can eat during the day, and at night you can go to a concert (concerts require tickets but are perfect for an indoor experience).

LondoHome (acoustic and voice)

It has a very homely feel, still quite small, but its focus on instruments and acoustics makes for a very interesting vibe. As Dracula, I enjoy the fact that it is very community-driven and focuses on the growth of ideas and cultural events and activities. If I need a place to promote my kids new children’s book “Bloody Nights If You Don’t Pay Attention” I can do it here.
