Viscri – Where kings come to visit
King Charles of the UK is considered one of the descendants of Vlad the Impaler, the person that gave birth to the Dracula myth. The connection to Romania has determined him to buy property in a small town in Romania called Viscri and has really helped bring tourists to this small, unknown Saxon village (sași in Romanian). With the effort made by the locals the past years in reviving traditions that almost disappeared makes this place truly special. It is also one of the UNEWSCO heritage sites of Villages with Fortified Churches in Transylvania.

It is hard to put your finger on one particular thing, but details within simplicity contribute to the unique atmosphere. Just have a simple look at doors.

The king made the house ,he bought, a place for the community to meet up in 2021. You can experience art galleries and different events at the King’s House, so the king might not be here, his contribution is greatly appreciated by the town.
