I lived in a couple different countries and coming back home I realized that I have a deeper appreciation of what Romanian culture is and how to appreciate it better. So when I saw the type of things that haanpc is doing related to food I empathised a lot and wanted to promote his work.

It all starts with really well made traditional food. You know this guy is legit when you see the use of a wodden spoon and charing the eggplants with actual fire. You might thing that there are other ways of doing salata de vinete but it’s the small things that make this recipe perfect.

Who is haanpc?

Why say anything when he can share his story.

Where does his passion for cooking come from? Grandma!

Why follow him?

1.Salt of the earth type recipes and a true representation of ingredients that are not frequently used in Romania anymore.

2. Recipes that I grew up with (the boiled versions of papanasi are very rare).

3. Holiday dishes that most Romanians eat on Easter and Christmas.

4.With the risk of repeating the theme… childhood again!

5. Expanding my understanding of Romanian food – I ate poppy seed dishes in the past but never this.
