Gura Humorului is one of the most beautiful, well connected cities in the country, close to some of the most important Painted Monasteries. It is a vibrant small city with a lot to offer and Dracula knows its secrets…and might share said secrets for a bit of blood! *wink

Hiking up Piatra Pinului + The view from the Tower

In the Arinis park one of the coolest things you can do is hike up Piatra Soimului (The Hawks Rock) and towards the top you can see a really cool tower that shows you the surrounding areas. If you are not in a hiking mood you can take the ski lift up top and on your way back take the alternative hike down the hill. Yes, there are 2 hiking paths in one place for an interesting adventure.

Adventure Park

The picture below says it all, you climb trees, stretch your body and hold onto ropes. Dracula can fly so he doesn’t bother with this… Kids and adults can have loads of fun with routes of varying difficulty.

Jewish Cemetery

This is also a historical reminder of the Jewish contribution to the cultural diversity of the area. Holocaust and communism led to a massive reduction in the Jewish population in the city. Around 10 Jewish individuals live in the city at this moment in time. The cemetery has a nice view and is the perfect place for contemplating.

Magura Hill

One of the more local hidden gems, it is a hiking path through the forest where you end up on top of a grassy hill. The view is not stunning but you get a sense of how people used the field back in the day. That field is used to this day to collect hay and this is the spot where the youngsters used to have picnics away from pesky adults.

Walk to Voronet Monastery

Pro tip is not to walk there when it is very hot outside, Dracula knows how much the sun can damage one’s skin… jokes aside you can go through Arinis Park and walk from there to the monastery, part of the path is through the park and then you arrive to the main street. The good news is there is a cafe where you can get a refreshing drink and then arrive to the monastery.

There are multiple locations where you can have a nice break on your walk over there.
