Maria Tănase
Nicknamed the Edith Piaf of Romania, Maria Tanase impressed with her vocal range. My opinion is that she impressed by using her voice by showing the full potential of Romanian traditional music. Her life is even more fascinating here
Hanu’
Don’t know much about this band but it is collaborating with the band called Subcarpați that focuses on the revival of Romanian folklore. What I know for sure is that the use of particular Romanian instruments with these types of sounds makes my heart skip a beat.
Marin Cotoanță
A really interesting individual who played multiple instruments and interpreted a lot of old traditional music from all across Romania. This gem that we are playing is from the seaside and showcases the Ottoman influence in music from the Dobrogea area. Most of the time he was behind the scenes of famous Romanian singers.
