Looping right back to the start of the astrological wheel, we have Aries (March 21 – April 19).
If Pisces is the Dreamer, Aries is the Warrior. Ruled by Mars (the planet of action, energy, and combat), Aries is a Cardinal Fire sign. They are the pioneers, the adrenaline junkies, and the highly competitive go-getters of the zodiac. A relaxing spa day or a slow museum tour will bore them to tears. They want to sweat, conquer, and do things that make their heart race.
Here are the best places to visit in Romania for an Aries.
1. Moldoveanu Peak (Făgăraș Mountains)
Aries constantly wants to prove they are the best, the strongest, and the first. They are highly competitive, even with themselves.
- Why visit: At 2,544 meters, Moldoveanu is the highest peak in Romania. An Aries won’t settle for the second-highest. The hike is demanding, rugged, and requires serious stamina, which perfectly satisfies their need for a physical conquest and the ultimate bragging rights.
- The Vibe: Victorious, extreme, and challenging.
Dracula:I would personally suggest Piatra Craiului, but if you want to be the best, high intensity… Via Transilvanica can be done by jogging, a trek done by Tibi Useriu, an ultramarathon runner, or doing it by bike, which is also really hardcore… rowing the Danube from the start of Romania in Orsova to one of the cities at the end, Sfantu Gheorghe… Taking your bike on Transalpina, avoid Transfagarasan because there are a lot of bears there. Hike the whole mountain range of Meridionali that includes the peak in Fagaras. My favorite peak is Retezat, as it is one of the oldest National Park Reserves in Romania, and it’s one of our peaks over 2500m.
2. Poenari Citadel (Argeș County)
Ruled by the God of War, Aries respects strength, battles, and hardcore history. They also need to burn off their boundless physical energy.
- Why visit: This is the real fortress of Vlad the Impaler, perched precariously on a cliff edge. To get there, you have to climb exactly 1,480 steep concrete steps. While other signs might complain about the climb, an Aries will turn it into a race to the top. The brutal history of the fortress appeals to their fiery, martial nature.
- The Vibe: Hardcore, historic, and intense.

3. Turda Gorge (Cheile Turzii)
Aries are fearless thrill-seekers who love fast-paced environments and danger (or at least the illusion of it).
- Why visit: This spectacular limestone gorge is an absolute playground for adrenaline junkies. An Aries can go rock climbing, tackle the Via Ferrata, or zip-line across the dramatic landscape. It offers the exact kind of heart-pounding, hands-on action that this fire sign craves.
- The Vibe: Thrilling, active, and rugged.

4. The Transalpina Highway
While Sagittarius loves the scenic freedom of the Transfăgărășan, Aries wants to push things to the absolute limit.
- Why visit: Transalpina is the highest paved road in Romania, reaching an altitude of 2,145 meters. It is less commercialized and a bit wilder than the Transfăgărășan. An Aries will love the sharp hairpin turns and the exhilarating feeling of driving literally above the clouds.
- The Vibe: Fast, daring, and breathtaking.

5. Brașov (For Mountain Biking or Skiing)
Aries gets bored easily and needs a basecamp that offers immediate access to action, alongside a lively, high-energy atmosphere to blow off steam afterward.
- Why visit: Brașov is the ultimate hub for active travelers. In the winter, an Aries can hit the black diamond ski slopes in Poiana Brașov. In the summer, they can bomb down Mount Tâmpa on a mountain bike. Afterward, the bustling bars in the Old Town provide the perfect loud, energetic environment they thrive in.
- The Vibe: Energetic, sporty, and loud.
Dracula: I would add Bucharest for the intense traffic and intense nightlife. In terms of ski slopes, one of my best friends that loves skiing said that Sinaia is the ski slope for that boost of adrenaline, just know it closes down if the wind is too intense.
