Baneasa is a really cool small airport that is close to the city. The problem is that it is undergoing construction on a future metro line, so it is really annoying getting there.

Will Google Maps help me?

Google will mislead you, and you will get off at a station that causes more logistical problems.

Solutions: take bus 100 that takes you to the north to the other airport and come back. It takes some extra time, but walking around the construction site is impossible. And changing buses takes extra time.

Leaving Romania is the easy part.

Leaving from Bucharest to your country of destination is no problem. Just take bus 100, the bus that takes you to both airports, no problem whatsoever.

Don’t forget to buy a ticket

You get on the bus, swipe your card, and you are set. Also, know that it is easier to buy one person, one card. The ticket inspectors are really stiff about it and the fine is 80 lei (16 euro) if you pay it on the spot, double if you pay it later.
