You need the ultimate guide to cool down when it is hot outside? Well we made this magical list after years of research and trying all the beautiful ice-cream that Bucharest has to offer. Here are the top 3 places in terms of taste, creaminess, variety and balance of flavours.
Number 3 – Gelateria La Romana (Old Town and Calea Victoriei)
Perfect place for an ice-cream, they have multiple locations, and you can find them in Old Town, shopping malls, and Piata Romana. They are a franchise from Italy, and they make some of the best ice cream in the city. It is not as good as the one in Italy but still really good with decadent flavors. They make the ice-cream a bit too sweet, but all the other factors hit the right spot.
Number 2 – Vicecream (Old Town and Calea Victoriei)
My favorite place for some bold flavors, passion for taste, and staff that is friendly. My personal best flavor: grapefruit, ginger, and mint. It is a Romanian brand made in 2016 by two friends that loved ice cream and you can experience that in the flavours.
Number 1 – Friddi (The best place unfortunately is far away)
Not close to Old Town, out of the way from any tourist attraction, but they do a lot of flavors, and they do them very well. People go out of their way to get ice cream from here, and that is a good sign. Also another Romanian brand.
Bonus places:
Zelato – because of their Funeral cake flavoured ice-cream and rice pudding icea cream
Velocita – for the long lines of people that usually get ice cream here
