It is artificial
If you think of communism, you are going to think of buildings, politics, prison, and standing in line for food. But at least in Romania it has a flavor! It tastes like rum essence, or artificial flavor of rum. And you are wondering why that is? Well, during communism, getting products was difficult, so one of the few things that were mass-produced were rum essence, and vanilla essence (artificial vanilla). These were the only flavorings that were easily accessible to cook with.
Does it contain alcohol?
No.
Whenever I taste rum essence, for me it tastes like communism.
