
Fishermen’s Festival on Kisselef Street 22-25 March
Master chefs from across the country will showcase their culinary skills by preparing hundreds of kilograms of fish and seafood in various innovative ways at the Annunciation Fish Festival.
Residents of Bucharest and tourists will have the chance to explore a wide array of flavors and textures, including popular fish such as herring, mackerel, trout, sea bream, sea bass, and salmon.
Dishes like carp brine and fisherman’s stew will be among the highlights, accompanied by delicious desserts such as sponge cakes and traditional pies from Bucovina. The festival promises an exciting culinary experience with fresh, smoked, or marinated fish prepared in diverse cooking styles, from frying and grilling to baking in pies or crafting into croquettes.

Varieties of fish and seafood at the festivals include herring, mackerel, trout, sea bream, sea bass, carp novac, Danube carp, carp, crucian carp, catfish, salmon, zander, shellfish, shrimp, octopus, and other seafood.
Other essential dishes feature carp brine, fisherman’s stew, grilled trout and carp, trout salad, fish meatballs, fish rolls, fish pies, croquettes, herring meatballs, and shellfish, as well as salmon sausages and kebabs.
Traditional delicacies include carp roe salad, trout paste, and fish and mushroom zacusca.
The highlight of the festivals is the Lipovan fish soup, prepared with hundreds of kilograms of pike, catfish, carp, and crucian carp, along with onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and lovage.

Traditional Artisans at the The National Museum of the Romanian Peasant 22-24 March
The folk craftsmen and artisans present at the fair will exhibit meticulously crafted traditional garments, ceramic vessels painted with traditional motifs, icons, wool carpets dyed with plant-based colors, intricately carved wooden furniture, clay objects, and felted wool clothing.
Artisans passionate about beauty will showcase paintings, silver or pressed flower jewelry, handmade crocheted toys and clothing, cosmetics made solely from natural ingredients, lavender decor items, leather bags, and accessories.
From the traditional gastronomy, there will be fresh goat cheeses, wines from noble grape varieties from Dobrogea, Dealu Mare, and Vrancea, quince and plum brandy, various types of zacusca, homemade cakes, pies, gingerbread, selected jams, and honey.
From the antique inheritance of our grandparents, antique dealers will reveal authentic folk costumes, carpets, or embroidered tablecloths. Those looking to redecorate their homes in a rustic style will find carved wooden gates with folk motifs, spinning wheels, wooden bowls, and troughs.
Hot food for all tastes will be prepared on-site: vegan and non-vegan cabbage rolls, turkey skewers, bulz with brânză de burduf, bean stew with ham hock, mushroom stew, sour cream langoși, and abundant walnut kurtos kalacs.
