With the high inflation across all of Europe, sometimes the affordable option can be an amazing one. Sibiu is a quaint idyllic city that was the Capital of Culture in 2007. Located really close to the Transfagarasan Highway (the most beautiful road in the world, according to Top Gear), it lies close to the tallest mountains in Romania. The medieval architecture and Germanic influence on the architecture make this area perfect for European Christmas market vibes.
The Express wrote an article about how Sibiu is the cheapest Christmas Market in Europe, I would like to mention that this is a hidden gem Christmas market as it is less known, and most Christmas Market nowadays are in the upper price range.
