Genre: comedy

A lot of drama was floating around this movie, a lot of cons and pros were thrown around and even the accusation that Teambuilding is destroying the image of the Romanian cinema. No matter how much some people hated it, facts are facts, the movie managed to be the most profitable mainstream Romanian movie so far. It isn’t a masterpiece or a movie that would make you spiral in your philosophical thoughts, but it was never intended to be one. Some movies are just made to pass the time and bring you a bit of joy and this is exactly what Teambuilding is doing. Curious about life in corporations on the Eastern European side? You’d be surprised, the similarities are there.
Should you watch it?

Taximetristi (Taxi Drivers) – 2023
Genre: Comedy

Romanian directors are obsessed with slow burns and this movie is no exception. We all have an image of the typical taxi driver and their clients, but Taximetristi gives a different perspective on all those stereotypes.
Should you watch it?
- It’s a niche only the cinephiles might enjoy. If you are one of those it can be an interesting analysis on human behavior, but if you are new to Romanian movies I wouldn’t start with this one
The Goat and Her Three Kids (Capra cu trei iezi) – 2022
Genre: Horror, Thriller

This bedtime story we’ve all heard as children turns out to have a different, darker meaning through the eyes of this movie. It has all the ingredients for a successful film: a good plot, great actors, local flavor and that thing that sparks curiosity in the viewer’s mind.
Should you watch it?
- As you have already guessed it is on our top recommendations
Genre: Romance, Comedy

Gossip Girl tries to marry High School Musical in this Romanian interpretation, but I’m not sure if it actually hits the mark.
Should you watch it?
- It might be the fact that I’m not in the target audience (it is a movie for the teenage audience), but everything seems a bit predictable and not necessarily the greatest interpretation of young Balakn love. Romina VTM plays it a bit too safe.
