Even though in most restaurants and shops you can pay via card, there are still some places where you will need cash.
What can you pay by card?
- Tips can be added to the bill (this is quite new so might not apply everywhere – read here more about the new law and tipping in Romania)

Where will you need cash?
- Obor and other open air markets
- Nonstops and local shops- even though some of them might give you the possibility of paying by card we recommend you have some lei on you
